The work
To reach Australian Stock Report’s target audience of sophisticated investors and tap into their natural competitive streak, we developed a brand new trading game, in partnership with Saxo Capital Markets: ‘Top Trader’.
Participants were challenged to prove their investment expertise with a virtual $100,000 to trade over a four week game period. Up for grabs was the opportunity to win an all-expenses-paid trip to New York, including a tour of Wall St, for the winner.
With a bold and sophisticated design and messaging inviting game players to prove themselves against the competition, we differentiated ‘Top Trader’ from the more educational trading game offered by the ASX.
To spread the word and promote the trading game, we distributed Solus EDMs through three highly-targeted publishers, used display retargeting to encourage re-engagement and boosted posts through Australian Stock Report’s social channels to reach active investors across Australia who didn’t already ‘like’ the Australian Stock Report social assets page.
The results
The direct response approach to promoting Top Trader meant that we maximised the effectiveness of the available promotional budget to deliver over 700 leads for Australian Stock Report.
By utilising channels that deliver the highest level of action, we ensured that the message was delivered to a highly targeted group of active investors, who were the perfect candidates for the Top Trader game and for Australian Stock Report’s services.
With a flexible campaign identity that delivered great cut-through and strong results, we’re already planning the next execution of the Top Trader game and looking forward to delivering more high quality leads for Australian Stock Report.
