Yell Creative is an award winning Customer Experience and Marketing agency based in Surry Hills, Sydney. We’re seeking a talented UX Designer to help deliver outstanding outcomes for several new projects. You’ll be responsible for delivering inspirational and effective digital conceptual designs for a range of clients. This role is for an initial 3 months, with the potential to extend to be assessed during the initial period.

Your role at Yell

You’re an experienced and accomplished UX Designer and will relish working alongside a dynamic team. We're looking for thinkers, problem solvers and lovers of all things design to join our growing team. As a UX Designer, your primary tool at Yell will be your empathy with users, creative and analytical thinking and understanding of human behaviour and psychology. You will be a part of a cross-functional team; leading user research activities and conceptualising solutions based on research insights.

Other responsibilities include:

  • You’ll relish working as a key part of a small dynamic team.
  • Proven experience inspiring clients and turning ideas into world-class experiences
  • Use your qualitative research skills to draw out user problems, needs and pain points through face-to-face interviews.
  • Create user-centred design experiences across digital channels.
  • Build a better understanding of Yell’s customers through contextual interviews and user testing sessions.
  • Follow industry design trends and best practice.
  • Contribute to evolving the Design practice.
  • Contribute to developing the cross-channel design system and principles.
  • Apply design systems and principles to ensure a consistent customer experience.
  • Hands-on participation in an end-to-end development cycle going from discovery to delivery.
  • Actively seek feedback and evaluation from stakeholders to improve the Design practice and the team.


  • 3+ years of professional experience in User Experience Design for responsive Web and Mobile Apps, working in cross-functional teams, following Agile and Lean methodologies.
  • Skilled in prototyping using hand drawn sketches, UX Pin, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch and related software.
  • Skilled in information architecture, user flows, interface, interaction and visual design.
  • Proficient with visualisation tools such as UX Pin, Adobe CS Illustrator, Sketch or similar.
  • Facilitation skills and ability to lead design related activities.
  • Experienced in running user interviews and conducting usability testing with customers.
  • Experience in Agile Design and Agile Methodologies.
  • Proficient with user interface design patterns and standards for web and Apps – IOS Design and Google Material design.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating work from user-centred concepts to finished high quality solutions across App and web.

  • Minimum of 6 years experience of working in a creative studio in a similar role.
  • A passionate understanding of design trends and tools with excellent attention to detail.
  • Superb attention to detail.
  • Strong and comprehensive design vision across multiple mediums.
  • Good technical knowledge and skills (expert with Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate & InDesign).
  • Outstanding project management and time management skills.
  • Enjoys taking a project through from start to finish.
  • Comfortable presenting to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Brilliant at handling the pressures of a design studio.
  • A strong understanding and evidence of print, digital, web and screen design.
  • Experience in and an understanding of financial services marketing.
